Marlins 4, Mets 3; Bryan Holaday walk-off overcomes 3-run deficit, blown strike call

Backup catcher Bryan Holaday wasn’t starting today, but that doesn’t mean he can’t impact the game. Holaday came in to pinch hit in the bottom of the 11th, to give the Marlins a 4-3 win over the New York Mets, and earning him the JDF16 MVP chain.

That was Holaday’s second walk-off this year and the Marlins’ eighth walk-off of the season.

  • Dan Straily: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K (95 pitches)
  • Corey Oswalt: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K (84 pitches)

Miami has been in a rut lately, as this is only their second win this month, but they earned a much-needed win tonight.
