There seemed to be something about the St. Louis Cardinals that brought out the best in former Florida Marlins outfielder Jeremy Hermida.
In his debut against St. Louis in 2005, Hermida became the first player in baseball history to hit a pinch-hit grand slam in his first career at-bat. On this day 10 years ago, Hermida sent the Cardinals home with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.
The Marlins and Cardinals were tied 3-3 as Hermida got set to lead off the bottom of the ninth at Landshark Stadium on June 9, 2009.
