Reds right-hander Anthony DeSclafani dominated the Marlins on Wednesday night as the Fish trailed wire to wire in a 5-0 loss. On the whole, Cincinnati has outscored them 40-9 in six meetings this season.
On a night when Sandy Alcantara had arguably his best fastball of the year, the 23-year-old’s stat line suffered the most on a hanging changeup to Aristides Aquino. The mighty rookie outfielder laced it down the left field line for a three-run home run in the first inning.
The 3-0 advantage would be more than enough for the Reds, but for good measure, Tucker Barnhart delivered a two-out double later on.
