Jose Urena hasn’t been the same pitcher since he hit the Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr. with a pitch.
He’s been better. Much better.
Urena was the lone bright spot on a 2-7 road trip for the Marlins that ended Sunday with a 6-4 victory over the Phillies, registering both of the wins.
Since plunking Acuna with the first pitch of the game on Aug. 15 and landing a league suspension as a result, Urena has gone 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA in four starts. He didn’t hit any batters during that stretch, either.
