For the New Orleans Baby Cakes, the victory pushed their record to 40-32 in the Pacific Coast League. A solid record, but only good enough for third in the tough PCL American Southern Division.
Noesi (7-3, 2.87) struck out nine over six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and zero walks. He put 65-of-89 pitches over the plate with 5,793 in attendance at Isotopes Park. Noesi’s sparkling ERA would lead the PCL this season, if not for fellow rotation member Zac Gallen‘s other-worldly mark of 1.77. Riley Ferrell, on a rehabilitative stint with the Cakes, pitched two hitless innings and appears ready to (re)join the Miami Marlins.
