MIAMI (CBSMiami) — As the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office completes the autopsies for Jose Fernandez and two friends killed in a boating accident, fans and the South Florida community are taking the loss hard.
“Pablo, got bad news for you… Jose is dead. I said, ‘What? Nah. I can’t believe that,'” said one die-hard fan and season ticket holder, who stopped by the Fernandez family home to pay his respects from a distance.
The 24-year-old Marlins ace and the two other men, Emilio Macias, 27, and Eddy Rivero, 25, crashed along a jetty near Government Cut and flipped their boat.
