DETROIT (CBSMiami) – One of the greatest general managers in Florida/Miami Marlins history, if not the greatest, is out of a job.
Dave Dombrowski, the architect of the Marlins 1997 World Series winning team, was released from his contract as GM of the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday.
Quote from Ilitch: “I’ve decided to release Dave from his contract in order to afford him the time to pursue other career opportunities.”
It isn’t known yet whether Dombrowski was fired or if he quick, though that should be learned during a scheduled press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
