For the second year in a row, injuries get the best of Marlins veteran third baseman

Injuries once again got the better of Martin Prado.

The Miami Marlins’ veteran third baseman was moved to the 60-day disabled list with a right abdominal strain Tuesday, ending his season.

Prado, 34, played in 54 games this season, hitting .244 with 18 RBI.

His injury woes began before the 2017 season, when he suffered a hamstring injury playing for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. Prado played in just 37 games that season.
