Miami is seeking depth and could consider Steve Pearce, Chris Coghlan or Emilio Bonifacio this offseason, according to MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro.
The Marlins acquired Jeff Francoeur in a late waiver wire trade, but he is a free agent and wants to join a contending club, according to Frisaro. His departure would leave Miami with a notable lack of outfield depth.
Though Coghlan and Bonifacio both have experience with Miami, Pearce would be an intriguing option for the Marlins. This isn’t the first time Miami has expressed interest in Pearce, either, per Frisaro.
Pearce, 33, had a productive season with both the Rays and Orioles in 2016, batting .
