Today we look at former prep star, LHP, Dakota Bennett. Dakota played his high school ball at Brewer HS in Somerville, AL, 75 miles north of Birmingham. If Brewer High sounds familiar to Marlins fans it may be because Bennett was not the first player to be drafted out of Brewer. That distinction belonged to Gary Knotts, who was taken in the 11th round by the Marlins in 1995 and played four years in the Major Leagues.
The 6’3”, 170 lbs. Bennett has a chance to not only follow in Knott’s footsteps, but exceed them as he embarks on his professional career.
