Marlins reliever Bryan Morris, who has been on the disabled list recovering from back surgery, is hoping to return by mid-September, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.
Since Miami acquired Morris from Pittsburgh, he has proven to be a valuable addition to the bullpen. Over 17.2 innings this season, he’s pitched to a 3.06 ERA and 6.48 FIP.
Over 63.0 innings with the Marlins last season, Morris pitched to a 3.14 ERA and 3.64 FIP.
When Morris comes back, the Marlins’ bullpen will have another veteran arm to turn to. Manager Don Mattingly has used David Phelps, Kyle Barraclough, Fernando Rodney and A.
