Nine innings were not enough on a Sunday afternoon from Marlins Park. But the Atlanta Braves pounded reliever Tayron Guerrero in the 10th, plating two runs and completing a series sweep over the Miami Marlins, 3-1.
Pablo López began the day for Miami, and this start was much better than his last in Philadelphia. Lopez shut down the Atlanta lineup, producing six scoreless frames, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out six.
Marlins manager Don Mattingly made a questionable decision, pulling López from the contest after tossing 88 pitches and cruising along.
