Jose Urena has shown a tendency to hit batters during his four years in the majors.
His plunking of red-hot Ronald Acuna, Jr. set off a bench-clearing confrontation between the Marlins and Braves in the first inning of their game Wednesday night at SunTrust Park.
Acuna, Jr., the youngest player since 1999 to hit three consecutive leadoff homers, never got a chance at a fourth when Urena nailed him in the left elbow with a 97.5 mph fastball.
The incident incited both benches and bullpens to clear and led to the ejections of both Urena and Braves manager Brian Snitker.
