Hayden Penn was a six-foot-three right-handed pitcher from La Jolla, California. In 2002, the Baltimore Orioles took him in the fifth round of the draft.
Penn made his major league debut with the Birds in 2005, and started 14 games for them over the next two seasons. He put up a 9.31 ERA and a 2.03 WHIP through 58 innings of work, not really a particularly small sample size.
