Throughout nearly three decades as a Major League Baseball franchise, only eight members of the Florida/Miami Marlins have won a Gold Glove. Only two have won multiple Gold Gloves.
The first two-time winner was recognized on this day 25 years ago. Catcher Charles Johnson won his second straight Gold Glove.
It was Oct. 9, 1996 when the National League Gold Glove winners were announced. At just 25 years old, Johnson took home the honor for the second straight season.
After playing in four games in 1994, Johnson won the award in each of his first two full seasons in the big leagues.
