Giancarlo Stanton had no shortage of big home runs for the Florida/Miami Marlins during the 2011 season or throughout his career in South Florida.
One of Stanton’s first came on this day 10 years. That walk-off, 10th-inning blast completed the comeback as the Florida Marlins knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-6.
The Marlins had trailed by four runs early and by three after 5 1⁄3 innings at Sun Life Stadium on July 6, 2011. After a two-run home run by Logan Morrison in the sixth drew Florida to with a run, Hanley Ramírez tied it an inning later with an RBI single.
