In today's look into Marlins news, the N.L. East-contending Miami Marlins may continue to be active with roster moves this week after acquiring right-hander Bryan Morris from the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier today.
According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, "more moves are to follow, and at least one is expected before Thursday’s First-Year Player Draft."
"The Marlins clearly are looking for bullpen help with big league experience," Frisaro continued in his article posted on Sunday. "Carter Capps was to be one of those pieces. But the hard-throwing right-hander is on the disabled list with a right elbow sprain, and he will be evaluated on Wednesday by Dr. James Andrews."
The Marlins have been rumored to be looking for awhile at relief options to place around closer Steve Cishek - adding depth to a bullpen that has been inconsistent going further down the depth chart.
No one knows exactly what the Marlins are planning right now, but their continued success comparative to analysts' expectations could make them buyers on the trade market over the next couple months.
