Will we see a Miami Hurricane Freshman Starting QB?

The Miami Hurricanes starting a freshman at quarterback should be an outlier at an established program. Handing over the keys to an 18 year old fresh out of high school is not a recipe that can be routinely counted on for success. It is not unprecedented though.

Oklahoma Sooner quarterback Jamelle Holieway won a national championship in 1985 as a frosh. Jaylen Hurts was a few seconds away from leading the Crimson Tide to the National Championship as a Freshman last season.

More often than not freshmen Quarterbacks and especially true freshmen have floundered as starters.
