CORAL GABLES — Before the 2022 season, Tyler Van Dyke appeared poised for a potential storybook season with Miami. The Hurricanes quarterback, who was the 2021 ACC Rookie of the Year, was considered a potential first-round NFL draft pick and a Heisman hopeful.
But after a slow start to the season, Van Dyke suffered a shoulder injury against Duke on Oct. 22 that limited him to parts of two games to end the year. The two-year starter had a decision to make: Stay at Miami, enter the draft or look for a new opportunity through the transfer portal.
