For the second time in three years and third time since 2010, the Miami Hurricanes find themselves in need of a football coach.
While Miami fired Al Golden midway through the 2015 season and had some time to seek out his eventual replacement in Mark Richt, there is no such luxury this time around.
Richt’s stunning announcement Sunday that he was stepping down as Miami’s coach and retiring has put Hurricanes athletic director Blake James in a bit of a bind. Miami did not land a top-notch class during the Early Signing Period and the Hurricanes would like to bolster that 2019 recruiting class ahead of National Signing Day on February 6.
