When Manny Diaz took over as head coach of the Miami football program in December 2018 he instituted a new rule for Hurricane recruits than once they commit they are not allowed to take visits to other schools. That plan has worked relatively well with only seven de-commits in the 2021 recruiting class.
The re-commit of four-star running back Thad Franklin to the 2021 Miami recruiting class was a big re-addition. Franklin is currently the highest-ranked player committed to Miami for 2021. Franklin joins what will be a loaded running back unit for the Hurricanes in 2021.
