The Miami Hurricanes new turnover chain is bigger, badder and has more bling than the original 207 turnover chain. The 2017 chain was, according to Sports Illustrated was a “36-inch, 2.5-kilogram, 10-karat gold chain, with 900 orange and green sapphire stones arranged in a “U” that is 6.5 inches wide.”
Miami Hurricanes Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz and Miami area jeweler Anthony John Machado upped the ante on the 2018 turnover chain. According to Andrea Adelson of ESPN.Com, the turnover chain 2.0 has significantly more bling than last year’s.
The biggest style change in the turnover chain is that the iconic U logo has been replaced by a figurine of the school mascot Sebastian the Ibis.
