The Hurricanes are set to start practicing for their Russell Athletic Bowl matchup against West Virginia later this week, but before focusing on the postseason, Miami celebrated the regular season that was.
And as expected, some familiar names brought home the biggest honors at the team’s 2016 awards show, a private event held Sunday at the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall on Miami’s campus.
Running back Mark Walton earned the Jack Harding Team Most Valuable Player award after rushing for 1,065 yards and 15 touchdowns. Walton’s 55-yard touchdown run against Pittsburgh was also named the team’s top play of the year by Miami’s coaching staff.
