Not long after 7 a.m. on Wednesday — the earliest point at which a high school recruit can make his signing official — Jahfari Harvey did exactly that.
Harvey, a four-star defensive end, was the first player signee officially announced by Miami minutes later, the school posting a welcome message to Harvey on its Twitter feed.
The defensive lineman is expected to be one of more than a dozen players to sign with the Hurricanes during the Early Signing Period, which began Wednesday and continues through Friday.
The Hurricanes class is expected to be heavy with defensive prospects a year after Miami hauled in a group of talented offensive players in 2018.
