UM's Travis Homer a 'silent assassin' on the verge of two personal milestones as his NFL decision looms

He’s known for his hard-nosed running, his ability to shed defenders, his anime-centered post-touchdown celebrations and his steady presence in the locker room, where he’s mentored several of the younger players around him much the same way former Hurricanes running back Mark Walton once mentored him.

What doesn’t exactly define Travis Homer, though, is his voice.

The soft-spoken former Oxbridge Academy standout is more content to lead by example, leaving the big sideline and locker room speeches to some of his other Miami teammates. And even when he’s put in the spotlight as one of the Hurricanes’ most consistent, talented playmakers, he’s a man of few words, letting his on-field performance speak for itself.
