UM's Kirby, Kaaya defend Al Golden; Joe Yearby expected back

After a pair of back-to-back disappointing seasons, including last year’s in which the Hurricanes lost four straight and finished with a 6-7 record, there has been plenty of criticism of Hurricanes coach Al Golden.

That meant that on Monday, when facing dozens of reporters during the annual ACC Kickoff event, two of Golden’s players found themselves answering repeated questions about Golden’s future.

And both senior linebacker Raphael Kirby and sophomore quarterback Brad Kaaya stressed more than once that it’s on Miami’s players to get things on track, while reiterating they believe in their coach and believe he’s the right one to continue to head the Hurricanes’ program.
