UM coach Manny Diaz, who expressed disappointment in Miami’s South Florida recruiting efforts in the past recruiting cycle, is on the verge of finalizing changes in his recruiting department.
According to a source, David Cooney - who has been UM’s quality control coach on offense - has been offered a job as UM’s director of recruiting.
Cooney is expected to accept the job, though that had not happened as of early Thursday afternoon.
Diaz praised Cooney for his work in January, including his significant role in luring Buffalo grad transfer receiver K.J. Osborn.
