UM’s Chris Lykes makes preseason All-ACC first team, Hurricanes hoops picked to finish 7th

Miami Hurricanes senior point guard Chris Lykes made the All-ACC preseason first team, released on Wednesday morning, as the UM men’s basketball team was projected to finish seventh in the conference.

Lykes is coming off an All-ACC honorable mention junior season in which he averaged 15.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

The 5-foot-7 point guard received 50 points in voting by the media, tied for fifth on the first team with Clemson’s Aamir Simms. North Carolina’s Garrison Brooks, the ACC’s Preseason Player of the Year, Virginia’s Sam Hauser, Florida State’s Scottie Barnes and Duke’s Jalen Johnson were the four to make first team ahead of Lykes and Simms.
