After the Hurricanes returned from the Duck Commander Independence Bowl, humbled after a loss to South Carolina gave Miami its first losing season since 2007, Miami coach Al Golden promised change.
During this week’s ACC Kickoff event in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Golden shared that he went straight from the airport the night of that loss right into his office. He said that started a 55-day stretch in which he didn’t take any time off. Instead, he traveled to Dallas to spend time with the Cowboys coaching staff, visited with recruits ahead of National Signing Day and made adjustments to his staff after two assistant coaches – Jethro Franklin and Brennan Carroll – took jobs in the NFL.
