Hurricanes basketball players Davon Reed and Khaila Prather were recognized Wednesday for their work off the court, with both being nominated to the NABC and WBCA Good Works Teams, respectively.
Reed, a senior on Miami's men's team, currently holds a 3.3 GPA, is one of the Hurricanes' captains, serves on the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Commitee and has, for three years, been an elementary school pen pal with students from South Florida schools. He has also volunteered at the Miami Rescue Mission, an organization that provides food, shelter and assistance to the homeless and needy in Miami.
