University of Miami shooting guard Davon Reed will gather with friends and family in Ewing, N.J. Thursday night, watch the NBA Draft, and hope that the experts who have him projected as second-round pick are correct.
He worked out for 16 teams over the past few weeks, and was called back for second workouts with Indiana and Phoenix, which he views as promising.
Through the process, Reed has gotten a taste of the NBA road life, as he traveled from Milwaukee to Brooklyn to Los Angeles (Lakers and Clippers), to Indiana to Miami to Orlando to Golden State back to Indiana to Dallas to Boston to Phoenix to Memphis to Detroit to New Orleans to Philadelphia back to Phoenix to New York, where he had his final workout with the Knicks on Wednesday.
