With the likes of Ed Reed, Michael Irvin, Jon Beason, Jonathan Vilma, Antrel Rolle, D.J. Williams, Brett Romberg, and Willis McGahee on a practice field at Miami on Saturday night, it was hard not to think about the Hurricanes’ storied past.
But make no mistake. Paradise Camp, the invitation-only, two-day recruiting event that featured more than 200 of the nation’s top high school football prospects, was very much about Miami’s future, a future several of those former Hurricanes greats said they believe will be bright under second-year coach Mark Richt.
