UM commit Al Blades Jr. on Miami-FSU rivalry: "That game is everything"

It’s only fitting that Al Blades Jr. knows all about the Miami-Florida State rivalry.

The son of the late Al Blades and nephew of Brian and Bennie Blades grew up surrounded by all things Hurricanes football. He’s watched more Miami and FSU games than he can count.

“That game is everything,” said Blades Jr., a cornerback at University School that has verbally committed to Miami’s 2018 recruiting class. “For that couple of hours, all eyes are on the game. It’s unexplainable.”

Because the game has had national title implications and featured incredibly talented players on both sides, it’s a rivalry that features a healthy amount of respect.
