Former five-star running back Lorenzo Lingard ran for 136 yards on 17 carries as a true freshman in 2018. Lingard dominated FCS Savannah State with four carries for 82 yards and two touchdowns He followed that up with 10 carries for 50 yards versus FIU. After a torn ACL in 2018 Lingard is leaving the Miami football program.
The decision by Lingard to enter the transfer portal comes after playing in only two games in 2019 without a carry. The sophomore who is able to use the 2019 season as a redshirt is reportedly healthy and it’s uncertain why former Miami offensive coordinator Dan Enos did not give Lingard a carry at the end of the season.
