One game after the Miami Hurricanes defeated the Florida Gators 21-16 in 2013, the Canes— fresh off a bye— curb stomped the Tigers of Savannah State 77-7. It was a school record for points in a game.
The margin was so one sided that both coaches agreed to shorten the final quarter.
Miami outgained Savannah State 637-183 in total yardage. The Hurricanes also had 27 first downs, compared to just 8 for the Tigers. Miami won the turnover battle 4-0.
Gus Edwards rushed for three TDs, Dallas Crawford rushed for two while catching another from backup QB Ryan Williams, and Duke Johnson also scored.
