Calling this season the “most important” in Miami’s entire history may seem like a clickbait overstatement, but it’s not. The successes and failures of this season will cement the direction of this program for several decades to come. Why? This in all likelihood is Miami’s final audition to earn an invite to the Big Ten and/or the SEC. Failing this audition likely dooms Miami to second-tier alternatives of the Big 12, a diminished ACC, or possibly a return to independence.
The ACC is about to collapse. FSU and Clemson are suing the ACC to get out.
