The significance of those passes haven't been lost on Vincent Testaverde.
The quarterback, in the running to be Brad Kaaya's backup as the Hurricanes move closer to their Sept. 3 opener against FAMU, smiled when describing what it's like to throw to tight end Michael Irvin II.
"We're building a little relationship. It's something special," Testaverde said. "It's pretty cool."
It remains to be seen if that Testaverde-to-Irvin connection will one day be as magical as the one that played out in Miami during the 1980s, when Vinny Testaverde and Michael Irvin dazzled for the Hurricanes.
