The names and faces may change, but for years, one question has always faced the Hurricanes at the annual ACC Kickoff event, which marks the unofficial start of football season.
Why hasn’t Miami won an ACC championship yet? Actually, why haven’t the Hurricanes even won the Coastal Division yet? After all, in recent years, the Coastal Division has been seen as the weaker division in the ACC. Shouldn’t Miami be thriving there?
Turns out even Hurricanes first-year coach Mark Richt has been taken aback by the same phenomenon.
During one of his media sessions at this year’s event in Charlotte, Richt – a former quarterback at Miami -- said he was “surprised” his alma mater had yet to win a division title since moving from the Big East to the ACC.
