South Florida counties opening recreational facilities, with limits

Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties are reopening recreational facilities — with limits — starting Wednesday. Golf courses, boat ramps, marinas, and pools in multifamily developments are allowed to open, following social distancing guidelines. Beaches and playgrounds remain closed.

Under the reopening guidelines, boat ramps have restricted hours, and only one boat is allowed on a ramp at a time.

Golf courses, marinas, tennis courts and, in some cases, community pools also will reopen, but will require the public to stick to keeping apart to keep safe from the spread of the new coronavirus. “There will be stiff penalties if people don’t abide by rules,” said Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner.
