Every year, college baseball coaches across the country have to deal with the best kind of problem.
As they and their teams are moving through the postseason, year in and year out comes the Major League Baseball first-year player draft. This season, the draft began Thursday – a night before Jim Morris’ Hurricanes were set to open Super Regional play against ACC rival Boston College.
Last June, that moment came as Miami prepared to head to Omaha for the College World Series.
While the Hurricanes prepared to board the buses that would take them to the airport for their flight, several players learned they’d been drafted – news that set off cheering the throughout the clubhouse and concourses at Mark Light Stadium.
