Even as the Hurricanes struggled to a disappointing 7-6 season in 2018, Miami’s defense was a force. Its secondary was elite, allowing opponents just a meager 135.6 passing yards per game, a number that ranked tops in the nation among FBS programs.
On Monday at the NFL’s scouting combine in Indianapolis, two members of Miami’s defensive backfield showed off the athleticism, speed and skill that made them so valuable to the Hurricanes last season.
Both safety Sheldrick Redwine and cornerback Michael Jackson put up numbers that ranked among the best at their respective positions in several statistical categories.
