Miami Hurricanes linebacker Shaq Quarterman went to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round of the NFL draft at pick No. 140 on Saturday afternoon.
The Jaguars are getting a dependable player and sure tackler. A four-year starter in college, Quarterman set UM’s consecutive starts record (52). He tallied 356 career tackles, ranking him ninth on the Hurricanes’ loaded all-time list.
Quarterman also recorded 13 sacks, forced three fumbles, recovered four and 46 1/2 of his tackles in his Miami career went for a loss.
Quarterman was a first-team All-ACC selection each of the past two seasons while earning second- and third-team conference honors in his sophomore and freshman campaigns, respectively.
