CORAL GABLES — Mario Cristobal spent part of his second offseason searching for coordinators to replace Josh Gattis and Kevin Steele. His search brought him to the same place: Louisiana.
Both new coaches, offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry, call the state home, with their hometowns separated by about 140 miles. They are both in Coral Gables now, looking to get the Hurricanes back to winning ways after a 5-7 season last year.
“Two Cajuns in one day, huh?” Guidry said at his first Miami press conference Tuesday, which followed Dawson’s first press conference.
