During weeks of uncertainty, Miami’s coaches have stuck to the basics.
They’ve focused on preparing their players for upcoming opponents. They’ve recruited. They’ve done their best to answer tough questions about their futures – futures that, with the school having hired Mark Richt as its new coach earlier this month, remain in doubt.
So as the Hurricanes began installing their game plan Tuesday for their Dec 26 showdown with Washington State in the Hyundai Sun Bowl, it was that game, not what potentially will come afterward, that remained the primary focus for interim coach Larry Scott and offensive coordinator James Coley.
