The Hurricanes will be without defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad for at least one more game.
The rush end, who did not play for Miami last fall, is suspended for the Hurricanes’ opener against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday after violating an undisclosed team rule, a source confirmed to the Sun Sentinel.
Muhammad, a redshirt sophomore, was listed as a co-backup with Demetrius Jackson behind outside linebacker Trent Harris on the initial depth chart Miami released earlier this week.
As a freshman in 2013, Muhammad appeared in 13 games and had eight tackles, including seven solo stops, and two sacks, both coming in Miami’s win over Savannah State.
