Richt, Kaaya to be part of festivities at UM Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony

When eight new Hurricanes greats are inducted into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday night, two of the people hoping to make an immediate impact on the football program will be on hand too.

Miami coach Mark Richt, who is currently directing the Hurricanes through their spring football workouts, will speak at the annual event, while quarterback Brad Kaaya will be honored as the recipient of the Walter Kichefski Endowed Scholarship Award.

The induction banquet, set to take place at Jungle Island on Thursday evening, will also honor three former football players including offensive lineman Joaquin Gonzalez, running back Willis McGahee and tight end Kellen Winslow II.
