It has yet to be officially announced by ESPN, but on Monday, the media organization’s Adam Schefter leaked out the news on Twitter that former Miami Hurricanes great Jim Kelly is going to be given the Jimmy V Award at the 2018 ESPY Awards.
“Will become official later today: The Jimmy V award at the ESPYS in July will be given to Hall-of-Fame QB Jim Kelly,” Schefter tweeted.
Every year at the ESPYs, ESPN’s July award show recognizing athletic achievements throughout the previous year, the Jimmy V Award is given to "a deserving member of the sporting world who has overcome great obstacles through perseverance and determination.
