On Monday morning, news of an injury for a member of the Miami Hurricanes defensive line was reported.
Citing “multiple sources”, Peter Ariz of CanesInSight.com reported that DE Demetrius Jackson would have surgery for a knee injury and could potentially miss the remainder of the season. This was also hinted at by Jackson himself in an early-morning tweet:
A redshirt junior from Miami (FL) Booker T. Washington HS, Jackson has blossomed under the tutelage of DL coach Craig Kuligowski. One of the best run defenders along the defensive line, Jackson has made plays routinely this season, from both the DE and DT positions, the former on passing downs in Miami’s 4 DE package.
