The day he was announced as the Hurricanes new coach, Mark Richt said he intended to take his time in putting together his coaching staff. But after several weeks, there may be movement on that front, with some of Richt’s former assistants at Georgia reportedly expected to join him at Miami.
Bulldogs running backs coach Thomas Brown is expected to be one of those coaches, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that cited multiple sources. The AJC reported that Brown’s offer at Miami could include a new title, possibly co-offensive coordinator. Richt has said more than once since being fired at Georgia and hired at Miami that he would like to be more involved with calling plays and coaching quarterbacks than he had been in the past few years at Georgia.
