South Florida was represented well this past weekend as Orlando once again hosted the FHSAA State Championship games. St. Thomas Aquinas, Chaminade-Madonna, Cardinal Gibbons, and Columbus all represented their respective classes in state championship games. Chaminade-Madonna came out victorious with a 31-10 victory over King’s Academy and Cardinal Gibbons won 48-10 to seal the 5A championship.
Despite excellent efforts, Columbus fell to Mandarin 37-35 after missing a last second two-point conversion that would have tied the game. St. Thomas Aquinas got everything they could handle out of Lakeland and fell 33-20.
